THE JIM CAHILL AWARD
Commitment to the Growth and Development of Youth Hockey
The Award is to be presented annually to a player, parent, coach, sponsor, referee or mentor who, through volunteer contributions and commitments, has raised the standard of youth ice hockey in Hong Kong. A key characteristic of the recipient should be a demonstrated willingness to cooperate, collaborate and transcend institution and structure, working for the "greater good" of our young ice hockey players.
"Jim Cahill 's presence was always felt. He promoted and encouraged all the kids, not just his own. He held sportsmanship in priority over winning and losing. He always had a good word to say about everyone, the kids, the coaches and volunteers. Jim made it fun for us all to be at the rink."
If you would like to nominate a candidate for this year's Jim Cahill Award, please send us your recommendation to info@jimcahillaward.com. Your recommendation should include the name of your nominee, a detailed description of their volunteer contributions over the years and a note on how you know the nominee.
